Dahlonega Weddings

Dahlonega Weddings was founded by local artist and merchant Amy Strickland in June 2008. After having multiple conversations with other merchants, artists, and locals in the Dahlonega area, there was one thing that seemed to be on everyone’s mind: times are tuff and everyone’s business was being affected. After hearing these comments on quite a few occasions, Amy decided it was time to take action and give something back to the community while at the same time providing a service that could be useful to Dahlonega’s wonderful visitors and merchants alike.

The Brainstorming Begins:

Seeing that there were so many discouraged people, Amy decided to start talking to people in the area. After many intriguing discussions with merchants who are already involved in the wedding industry and a few that were getting ready to enter the industry, it became apparent that weddings in Dahlonega were a lot more popular than most people realized. Dahlonega was apparently a growing destination wedding community, and many of the businesses were growing! After having recent success with launching Hummingbird Lane Art Gallery’s website, and especially the wedding registry page, the ideas starting rolling in and she knew exactly what to do.

The Work Begins:

Amy started bringing up the ideas to friends, merchants and artists around Dahlonega. Everyone’s excitement and encouragement proved that the idea for creating a local Dahlonega area wedding website would be met with a warm welcome from the entire community. This was more reassurance and a short time later work on Dahlonega Weddings began.

The Idea Becomes Reality:

Today our website is live on the internet and we are all about connecting wedding couples along with their families and guests to all the wonderful merchants and wedding service providers here in Dahlonega. As a community effort and with so many from across Dahlonega involved with our website; we are very proud to not only provide a great service but to also connect the world with our local family here in Dahlonega!
